Dianne Williams

Diane joined Irpino Avin & Hawkins in early 2024. She is currently involved in the following cases:  MDL 2804 – In re: National Prescription Opiate Litigation and MDL No. 3080 - In re Insulin Pricing Litigation.

Prior Work Experience:

Diane started her legal career working in the transactional real estate department of a full-service firm where she drafted legal documents and collaborated with a number of professionals for the completion of residential projects throughout California.   She later focused her efforts on assisting in the defense of an SEC investigation for a bank client at a boutique firm which resulted in a positive outcome.  Eventually Diane spent four years working for a Federal agency where she assisted in a Federal disability class action.  Most recently Diane has worked in Plaintiffs class actions related to medical drugs and devices, notably, In Re: Avandia Marketing, Sales and Products Liability Litigation and MDL 3014 (Philips Recalled CPAP, BI-LEVEL PAP, and Mechanical Ventilator Products Litigation).

Education and background:

Diane earned her Juris Doctor simultaneously with a Master’s in Social Work.  During law school she interned at the San Diego County Public Defender Juvenile Delinquency Division where she represented youth offenders in Juvenile Court and later was a Policy Intern for the Hon. Judge James Milliken at the San Diego County Juvenile Court.  She also was an Investigator Intern at the State Office of the Child Advocate in Macon, Georgia where she investigated complaints of child welfare system failure.  She has a lengthy history of volunteering for child welfare organizations.
