Emma K. Schwab

Emma joined Irpino Avin & Hawkins in 2023. With a primary focus on mass torts, class actions and product liability, her experience also includes business litigation, personal injury and probate matters. Emma is admitted to practice in all federal and state courts in Louisiana.

Emma received her Juris Doctorate in 2014 from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. At Loyola, Emma received CALI awards for the highest grades in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Community Justice Clinic, was a member of the trial advocacy program, and received awards for the best cross examination and best closing argument at the annual trial advocacy intramural competition. Emma also received the Gillis Long Poverty Law Center Public Service Award in recognition for her handling of landlord/tenant disputes at the Community Justice Clinic. Emma was a judicial extern for the Honorable Lance M. Africk, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana, while in law school. After graduation, she clerked for the Honorable Sandra Cabrina Jenkins at the Louisiana Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal.

Emma has been recognized by Super Lawyers for the 2022-2024 Rising Star list in the areas of class action and mass torts. Emma is a Board Member of the Younger Lawyers Division of the Federal Bar Association New Orleans and an active volunteer with the Adaptive Skills Athletic Program (ASAP) Foundation.
